Estes Park health food stores are sadly nonexistent. Buckwheat's Natural Foods was the reigning champion for some time, but alas, they are no longer in business. If you are looking for natural and organic items in Estes Park, you have the following three options:
Leffler's Estes Park Vitamin Shoppe 164 South St Vrain, (970) 586-2751 This is really the only Estes Park health food store, and they primarily sell vitamins. They also have nutritional supplements, a few food items, natural health care items, and books. Very friendly & knowledgeable.
Estes Valley Farmer's Market 470 Prospect Village Dr., (970) 532-4581 Open Thursday mornings during the summer, the farmer's market offers fresh produce, breads, cheeses, smoothies, flowers and more from area farmers. Next to the Estes Park Brewery.
Country Supermarket 900 Moraine Ave., (970) 586-2702 This is a small, locally owned grocery store that offers a surprising number of organic products and natural health care items. The manager of the store makes a concerted effort to stock these items; for that we applaud him!
Safeway 451 E Wonderview, (970) 586-4447 This is the main grocery store in town, and part of a large chain. They have a decent selection of organic items (particularly pre-packaged organic items), but not a ton of organic produce.
If these Estes Park health food stores don't have what you need (and chances are they may not), the nearest alternatives are in Loveland or Longmont, about 45 minutes away. I tend to frequent Vitamin Cottage and Whole Foods in Boulder (about an hour away).
